What is Affordable Housing?

Artisan Village offers affordable homes at a wide range of rental rates. Affordable Housing Programs are in place that allow apartments to be available to those who may otherwise be unable to afford this premium community. Our Affordable Housing Programs have student and income restrictions.

How do I know if I qualify?

Apartments compromised of only full-time students are not eligible to live at Artisan Village. Another criteria for our affordable housing programs is the income restrictions. To be eligible for Artisan Village, your total annual household income must be under the below limits, based on the number of people living in the apartment.

60% AMI Program

 – 1 person: $42,180

– 2 people: $48,240

– 3 people: $54,240

– 4 people: $60,240


70% AMI Program:

 – 1 person: $49,210

– 2 people: $56,280

– 3 people: $63,280

– 4 people: $70,280


50% AMI Program:

 – 1 person: $35,150

– 2 people: $40,200

– 3 people: $45,200

– 4 people: $50,200

Do you have any apartments without restrictions?

No. Artisan Village is an affordable living community, all apartments do have income and student restrictions.

When can I move in?

We’re currently under construction and anticipating move-in dates starting in June 2020.

What is your pet policy?

Artisan Village is an extremely pet-friendly community! All are welcome with no breed or weight restrictions.

Additional 1/2 month pet security deposit and $25/month pet rent required. Limit 2 pets per apartment.

Where is your office?

Our temporary leasing office is located just down the street at: 2500 Rimrock Road, Madison WI.


Are any utilities included in rent?

High-speed internet, water, sewer and trash are included. All other utilities are covered by residents.

Optional cable plan available for $35/month.


Is parking available?

Yes! We offer a variety of parking options including, surface parking, detached garages and attached garages.

Is there an application fee?

Application fee: $25 per adult

Security deposit: $1/2 months rent

While live/work apartments have been historically associated with artists and craftspeople, Artisan Village’s live/work spaces cater to anyone with a home-based business given the flexibility to arrange the ample work-space as needed.
